Mythic Imagination

With my light body,  I cast my gaze southward…to Upper Egypt….to a time long past….to a great temple that holds many mysteries even to this day…..I will myself inside ….through the old entrance, now in the rear…..Like the wind I glide effortless on the whispered thought….

Sacred place…..a jewel upon the velvet sand Listen! Hear the many voices that dwell here.  Abydos is a place of re membrance….not only of all the pharaohs that formed the lineage for the young Ramses the Great….
It is a temple of initiation, of re membering the origin and the destination of all manifest….re membering our cosmic birth from the great love of the Great of Great, the Hidden One….

Come…..rest by the waters of the Osireion, the sacred waters behind this great complex. Be quiet… the noise of your own voice gives empty pleasure while wisdom waits for you in silence….

Listen.  Look upon the mirror surface of the water and see the heavens....rise now.....Rise!

Stretch your spirit to climb among the stars….Become one with the heavens! Good!....Now cast your starry gaze below....

This time see the glory that was Alexandria….
See the light house. Marvel at the great library…..Ah…..wisdom flowing in written works!
Works that honor the twin voices of Wisdom and Truth, of Thoth and Maat!

It is said that the greatest collection once sat here….honored and kept alive by the guardians….

Oh…..Observe the order. Maat truly at work! Callimachus, great librarian at Alexandria, created the first organized system of book catalogues!

Let the years roll forward and see another librarian, this time one named Eratosthenes. Such a mind!…See him study the shadows cast by the lighthouse in Alexandria. Now journey with him, up the Nile to what we now call Aswan.
Watch him…. Guided by Thoth and Maat, he continues on to deduce from his findings that the world is round, using his figures to accurately calculate the circumference….

Oh praise to this Ancient Egyptian and his humility in listening to the great teachers!

Ah….resting in the sky, like the starry form of Nut…now cast your mind up the Nile….watch for the turning bend and look to the temple of Kom Ombo, a pearl seated high above the Nile…

Come now…let us visit……Look upon the beauty of the temple registers, the magnificent carvings on the wall… Not only beautiful but informative. Come…

Look closely. Here upon these ancient walls see the depiction of surgical tools along with the image of a mastectomy. Know here, in this ancient land, are found the roots of much healing, of medicinal knowledge that flows through time….

Bring to mind one particular text…..it is called The Edwin Smith papyrus, the oldest surviving Egyptian medical text based upon science and rational judgment. Other medicinal texts exist yet each turns to superstition and magic for remedies…yet not this text which is almost modern in approach. While there is no certainty on authorship….could it be that our friend Imhotep, brilliant architect, high priest, and physician of the Old Kingdom, wrote this? Some believe this to be so….yet it matters little. For in the end it is a gift of Egypt….of KMT.

Move forward in time…Again, see the flourishing of philosophy, of mathematics, of astronomy….

Cast your thoughts to the exquisite art of the temple at Dendera….See the amazing astrological ceiling alive with mythological beings….so perfect it is validated to represent the composite sky during the time of Cleopatra VII, the death of her father, the birth of her son, Caesarian, her time with Caesar….a heavenly reminder of events gone by…
As to the astronomical knowledge…..re member the great pyramids at Giza….how they line up with the heavenly movements…..
